The screenshot below provides a Gantt chart view of the schedule for the ‘Optimise Supply Chain Structure’ project, with the control (top right corner) used to upload a new version of the schedule.
The Amplify™ schedule feature enables a user to link a Delivery Milestone with a Benefit Milestone that appears in the same schedule as a Finish to Start relationship.
In this example, the task ‘Implement (G3)’ has a finish to start a relationship with the Benefits ‘Savings due to Optimisation of Supply Chain Structure.’
If a new MS Project or Primavera file, with a later end date for the milestone task ‘Implement (G3)’ is imported, the start date of the benefit is shifted back by an equivalent number of days. The (negative) impact of the schedule delay is reflected in the benefits realisation plan, i.e. reducing the actual amount saved.
The next screenshot shows the project dashboard for ‘Optimise Supply Chain Structure’, with a delay from the imported schedule file. A 69-day delay on the milestone ‘Implement (G3)’ has led to a forecast variance of -$8,000 against the baselined benefits realisation plan.
The screenshot below shows the impact of schedule delay on the benefits dashboard for ‘Savings due to ‘Optimisation of Supply Chain Structure.’ The negative variance of -$8,000 for the forecast is shown in the benefits realisation plan and marked ‘delayed’ in red text on the widget beneath.
