Linking your project milestones to benefits is an important step to enable Amplify to calculate the progress of your project benefits realisation accurately. A milestone marks the completion of tasks contributing towards the benefit. Linking key benefits to pertinent milestones enables you to monitor whether your project is on track or is performing the way it is planned. When you link a milestone to a benefit, you will be able to see the benefits realisation progress on the Benefit Dashboard. Amplify compares the baselined schedule with that of the current schedule to calculate the variance in the schedule. If a milestone or any task that contribute to the milestone is delayed, the benefit is automatically delayed.
The Gantt chart shows benefits at the end of tasks.
To link a benefit to a milestone:
Note: Ensure that the option Enable Benefit Milestone is selected within the classification settings for the initiative before you proceed with the below steps.
- Navigate to the Schedule tab of your initiative.
- Locate the milestone that you want to link to a benefit.
- Select the milestone, drag the handle that appears at the right end and connects it to the benefit bar.
- Click Save Schedule.
